Prices & booking
How much does We Load cost?
$100 an hour for a two-person crew, with a 4-hour minimum. Travel time is charged on every job, both ways, at the crew's hourly rate, as its own line. It counts toward the 4-hour minimum. Pads, wrap, dollies and floor protection are included, and there are no stair fees or fuel surcharges.
Is there a minimum?
Yes: 4 hours on every job. Travel time and billed breaks count toward it.
Do you charge for travel time?
Yes. Travel time is charged on every job, both ways, at the crew's hourly rate, as its own line. It counts toward the 4-hour minimum.
Do I pay for the crew's breaks?
On hourly jobs, two paid 15-minute crew breaks are billed on a day with more than 4 hours of work, and one on a day of 4 hours or less. Billed breaks count toward the minimum. If the crew works through a break, it is still billed. Lunch is never billed.
Are there extra fees for stairs, fuel or equipment?
No. We never charge for stairs, fuel surcharges, pads and wrap, or dollies and straps, and floor protection is included.
Can I get a flat rate instead of hourly?
Often, yes. We'll hold a flat number whenever we can pin the volume down. Usually that means we're the ones packing it, but not always: if the volume and weight are already on record, or a professional organizer packed you out, we can work from that too. Call us and we'll tell you whether a flat number would be an honest one for your move.
Why do you price local moves by the hour?
Because every house has surprises: a piano, a switchback staircase, a garage that grew since you last looked. You pay for the time the job actually takes.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text (208) 328-5623, email estimates@weloadmoving.com, or use the estimate form on this site. Tell us where you're moving from and to, the size of the home, any stairs or elevators, and anything heavy or fragile.
What days and hours are you open?
We're open Mon–Sun 8am–5pm.
How far ahead do I need to book?
A week ahead is best. We'll do same-day moves when we're not too busy, so call and ask.
How can I pay?
Cash, Venmo or check.
What we do
What is moving labor?
The crew without the truck. You rent the truck, the PODS or the storage unit, which is the cheap part, and we load or unload it: padded, strapped and stacked wall-tight so nothing shifts between here and there.
What can you load and unload?
Rental trucks (U-Haul, Penske, Budget), PODS and shipping containers, and storage units. We also pack houses, do staging, and load semi trucks for van-line agents.
Do you bring a truck?
We don't own trucks; we own the work. Most of what we do is loading a truck, container or storage unit you've rented. If you need a truck too, call or request an estimate and we'll tell you straight what we can do.
Do you pack?
Yes. We bring the cartons and materials and pack the house. On a move we pack, we can usually quote a flat rate, because when our people fill the cartons we know exactly what we're moving.
What's included in the hourly rate?
The crew, moving pads on every finished surface, shrink wrap, dollies and straps, floor protection (neoprene runners on hard floors, Masonite over marble and granite), and taking furniture apart and putting it back together. None of it costs extra.
Who actually shows up?
On every home move, an owner is on the crew carrying furniture. We Load is worker-owned & operated. No day-labor roulette.
What does worker-owned & operated mean?
Nobody owns We Load from a desk. The founder works the jobs, and an owner is on the crew for every home move, so the person who answers for a scratch is on the truck. No absentee owner takes a cut of every job.
What areas do you serve?
Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Eagle, Caldwell, Kuna, Star and Middleton: the Treasure Valley in Idaho.
Do you do long-distance or interstate moves?
We load and unload here in the Treasure Valley. If you're moving out of state yourself with a rental truck, trailer or container, we'll load it before you go. For a full-service interstate move, call us and we'll tell you what we can do.
Do you take apart and put back together furniture?
Yes, on every hourly job. On a flat-rate job, it's included when it's on the estimate.
Damage, insurance & claims
What happens if something gets damaged?
If something is damaged on the job and We Load is at fault, we repair or replace it, whichever costs less, at our choice. File a claim online within one month of your move (sooner if the company that hired us for your job set a shorter window), and text photos to (208) 328-5623.
Are movers required to cover 60 cents a pound?
Not on local moves in Idaho. Federal law only requires movers to cover 60¢ per pound on interstate moves (a 100-pound dresser destroyed is worth $60), and Idaho doesn't require local movers to guarantee even that. Our standard is repair or replace when we're at fault.
Are you insured?
Yes. We Load LLC carries $1M per-occurrence / $2M aggregate general liability, and we'll send a certificate of insurance (COI) on request, including one naming your building or your company. Damage to your belongings is handled under our guarantee: if we're at fault, we repair or replace it.
How do you protect my floors?
Neoprene runners on all hard flooring, Masonite over marble and granite, and shoes off on light carpet. On pack-outs we also wrap door jambs and protect every path in and out. Your floors look the same when we leave.
Moving day & loading
What should I have ready before the crew arrives?
A clear path from door to truck, boxes taped and labeled, anything fragile set aside and flagged, the rental truck backed in (or tell us and we'll handle it), and reserved parking or elevator time if your building needs it.
How should a moving truck be loaded?
In tiers: heavy and square on the bottom, lighter up top, balanced side to side and front to back, with straps at every tier and pads on every corner, edge and face that another item could rub. Finish with a sealed wall packed tight side to side and front to back. That lateral pressure carries the load, so nothing crushes and nothing shifts.
What is 'chowder' in a moving truck?
Loose items that are neither furniture nor in a box: a skateboard, a tripod, yard tools. A pro load goes base, chowder, top load, with every piece exactly where it belongs.
What do PBO and CP mean on moving boxes?
PBO is packed by owner; CP is carrier packed. Carrier-packed cartons are reliably packed tighter and more securely. Owner-packed cartons tend to come up short of the top, which invites crushing the second anything stacks on them, and they're often taped light. None of that is a knock on you. You're not getting paid to pack. We are.
Brokers & buying a move safely
How can I tell if a moving company is really a broker?
Look it up on FMCSA's Protect Your Move search. It tells you whether you're talking to a carrier or a broker and shows complaint history. If the DOT number on the paperwork doesn't match the name on the phone, you have your answer.
What are the red flags of a moving scam?
A quote from a phone call or web form when nobody has seen your stuff; a price hundreds or thousands below every other estimate; a big deposit before anyone has seen your stuff; a company that says it's the carrier when the paperwork says broker or the DOT number doesn't match the name; and nobody willing to put the cubic feet or weight in writing on a binding document.
How do I avoid a hostage load?
Keep the transport in your name. Rent the truck, or book a U-Pack or SureMove trailer, or drop a container in your driveway, then hire professional muscle to load it tight and unload it clean. Nobody can renegotiate against your couch, because your couch never leaves your custody.
For businesses
Do you work with businesses?
Yes. We work for flooring installers (pack-outs and pack-ins) and for moving companies and van-line agents (overflow crews and semi loading) across the Treasure Valley, and we take contents work for restoration contractors (contents out ahead of demo).
What do you need to get set up as a vendor?
A signed W-9 and a COI naming your company, both before the first job. If your contract requires additional-insured status, our insurance agent adds you by endorsement. We check our limits against your contract minimums up front, and you can pay by direct deposit or through your AP process.
Can you move the furniture out before new flooring goes in?
Yes. That is a pack-out. We protect every path in and out, pad and wrap every finished surface, clear the footprint to the garage, a storage container or a staging room, and put it all back once the floor has cured.
Do you do water, fire or mold remediation?
No. Your mitigation techs mitigate; we handle the contents. We wrap and move contents out ahead of demo, keep them clear of the work, and bring them back.
Will your crew work under our company name?
Yes. Your customer, your name on the job, your standards, and any review goes on your profile. We don't hand out cards on your jobs, and we'll put that in writing if you want it.
